New Range of Intercity Buses Launched By VECV

VECV Limited has debuted its intercity bus range from the newly formed VECV division.

These custom-developed buses are designed and built in the Hosakote facility of Volvo buses.

The company in a statement said that the new platform was constructed within a year of the formation of the Bus Division of VECV.

According to Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, VECV, they announced the formation of the bus division within VECV with a focus to shape the developments in the Indian bus industry.

Aggarwal also added that they are proud to go ahead with a range that synergizes with Eicher’s extensive local presence and expertise in value engineering and Volvo’s competence in the premium bus segment.

The new product, as per him, truly combines the best of both worlds. The range, which is built on the 6016 R LPO 12.4 m chassis of Eicher, comes equipped with the reliable 5.1-liter VEDX5 engine taken out from Volvo Group’s global powertrain family.

It has the capability of delivering maximum power of 210 HP and flat torque of 825 Nm @ 1200-1600 rpm.

Akash Passey, President of the Bus Division of VECV says that due to the national permit being rolled out, operators are looking out to take the services of high-quality buses which can reliably cover longer distances.

He adds that this new product is indeed a perfect answer to the rapidly evolving market.

He is hopeful that the new factory-built coach and sleeper will stand as preferential alternatives to rail and air as they are best in class quality and reliability. This new coach will be available in two models, ie. coach, and sleeper
