Truck Tech Apprenticeship Program Launched By Navistar

An international Truck Uptime Academy has been set up by Navistar.

The academy will offer an year long technician apprenticeship that will give out paid and hands-on training in the real world.

The technician training program will provide a 90-day dealership rotation for the assignments that will be on the job.

Students will be allowed to work with multiple vehicle types, which will include the likes of electric as well as fuel cell technologies. Post 3200 hours of on the job training, students shall be entitled to have 800 hours of classroom time as well as lab work.

Besides this, a journeyman toolbox, a laptop, and a Navistar mentor can be accessible to the students.

To further aid the technician education, there have been instances where the dealers from around the U.S. have come forward and donated needed equipment to colleges and also offered technical programs by way of the TECH EmPOWERment initiative.
