Triton Electric Vehicle To Build Commercial EV Facility In Gujarat

Triton Electric Vehicle LLC, based in the United States, and the Gujarat government signed an agreement on Tuesday to build a commercial electric vehicle production plant in Bhuj, district of Kutch, with a potential investment estimated at Rs 10,800 crore.

According to the deal, Triton Electric Vehicle will build the plant on 645 acres of land with a production capability of 50,000 trucks per year.

As per the statement, the state government would assist in obtaining the necessary licences and finishing the enrolment process for the plant’s establishment in line with appropriate policy.

In the current financial year, Triton Electric Vehicles will begin construction of the factory with an early investment of Rs 1,200 crore.

The overall investment by the corporation will be Rs 10,800 crore. According to the announcement, the plant will employ roughly 10,000 people directly and indirectly.

In-house facilities such as a robotic paint shop, chassis sub-assembly, and a quality control and material testing lab will be developed.

In the presence of the chief minister, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries and Mines Department, Rajiv Kumar Gupta, signed the deal on behalf of the Gujarat government with Himanshu Patel, Triton Electric Vehicles’ founder and CEO.
