Mack Trucks’ first fully-electric class 8 model Mack LR’s production is in full swing at companies Lehigh Valley facility in Pennsylvania.
Lehigh is the same facility where all class 8 Mack vehicles for North America and other exports are put in place.
These trucks come equipped with four NMC lithium-ion batteries and are compliant with a 150 kW SAE J1772 charging system.
Besides this, the three-mode regenerative system for breaking helps to recapture the energy from the hundreds of stops the vehicle makes every day due to a result of increasing payload that is spread across its operations.
Significantly, the trucks can be shaped-up with equipment bodies from other manufacturers based on the unique needs of the customers. The LR electric features the same visibility and attributes as its diesel-powered variant.
The company announced not very long ago that the LR electric comes standard with the Mack ultra service agreement, which offers customers a tailor-made uptime package designed specifically to meet the unique requirements they have from a BEV.
The service agreement includes scheduled maintenance as well as preventive maintenance repair, towing, monitoring via Mack connected services, and a battery warranty. These services can be availed through monthly payments or in a single package.
