Piaggio Extends Hand To City Link To Help Expand Its Electric Three-Wheeler Fleet

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., which is a 100% subsidiary of Piaggio Group from Italy, has got into partnership with City Link Portal Pvt. Ltd., which is a leading techno-enabled logistics startup to expand its electric fleet.

City Link had earlier this year launched the Think Green Think EV initiative, through which it had made an entry into this segment.

According to Saju Nair, who is the Executive Vice President of the Commercial Vehicle business of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., they are proud to contribute to the Think Green Think EV initiative of City Link by providing their flagship brand, Ape in this segment, which is an electric vehicle range.

He added that Piaggio is confident that their technology will help City Link to get sustainable, lower operating costs, delivery solutions and efficient system for its customer.

Puneet Prakash, the co-founder of City Link, said that though their company had forecasted a launch of 100 EVs, with Piaggio’s collaboration and expertise, they are confident to increase the number multifold and that too in this financial year itself.

According to Piaggio, the new Ape variant can be termed as the most powerful electric cargo three-wheeler in its segment, which gives a power output of 9.5 KW. The vehicles come with a three-year free maintenance package, a part of their introductory sales offer.
