Piaggio Vehicles, which is a small commercial vehicle maker in India, has sold 15206 cargo three-wheelers in the period between April to November, FY 21-22.
The surge can be attributed to the growing demand for e-commerce and delivery businesses.
These figures are based on the Parivahan data till last month, excluding the states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.
As per Diego Graffi, CMD, Piaggio Vehicles, their company has introduced the most cost-effective three-wheeler cargo and since then has been a market leader in the segment.
Despite a challenging environment, they have managed to maintain the number one spot in the total three-wheeler cargo business for the financial year 22.
Graffi added that its focus has always been on giving out world-class products and services to its customers and reducing the cost of ownership.
He further said that due to detailed market research on understanding the needs of the Indian consumers, they have been able to make inroads in the alternate fuel three-wheeler cargo vertical.
Piaggio currently has a diverse portfolio that caters to varied customer needs with a competitive range of three-wheelers in all segments from CNG to LNG as well as petrol and diesel.
