To serve the increased cargo handling and lifting demands by ports and railways, Orange EV is involved in developing new electric terminal trucks that will be made available in the third quarter of 2022.
Orange EV’s T-Series Class 8 electric terminal trucks are commercially available in the market since 2015.
The enhanced version will come equipped with new design elements and additional power to increase performance that is the prime requirement of maximum load operations and faster speeds.
Some of the many features which are available on the new version include speed up to 32 mph, a gross combined weight rating of 180,000 pounds, battery capacity of up to 233 kWh, fast charging for up to 24 hour-operations, and an increased hydraulic capacity.
The new trucks will especially perform better when it comes to distribution centers and other environments, which are known to operate with very heavy loads, require faster speeds and steep grades.
As per Kurt Neutgens, Orange EV’s CTO, the company understands the pivotal role rail and ports play in the movement of high-valued goods, warehousing, and freight distribution. Significantly, Orange EV has now started taking orders too.
