October Domestic Sales of Ashok Leyland Up By 13%

Hinduja Group’s flagship company, Ashok Leyland, has reported domestic sales of 10,043 units in October as against a sale of 8885 units in the same month of the preceding year.

There has been a rise in the domestic sales of commercial vehicles which has been pushed further by healthy availability of freight, leading to better freight rates and also an increase in commercial activity.

The domestic sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles went up by 35% at 5254 units in October.

Last year the company had sold 3881 units domestically during the same period. As far as light commercial vehicles are concerned, there was a lower contribution vis-a-vis the previous year, with 4789 units sold against 5004 units sold in October 2020.

Overall, the total sales for Ashok Leyland was 11079 units last month, as compared to 9989 units in October last year, marking an increase of 11%.
