Nikola Corporation, which is an electric startup company, is set to enter the American BEV fleet market with an order of 100 Nikola Tre trucks for Total Transportation Services Inc.’s emissions fleet.
Nikola has delivered the first BEV pilot truck to leading South California’s port truck company, which will in turn help in expediting a cleaner future at the port or other port areas of Long Beach & Los Angeles.
President Biden has also shown his commitment to an electric future for all the government fleets.
Due to this, several California representatives were present to take the delivery of the truck as part of its induction ceremony, including the Congresswoman, Nanette Diaz Barragan.
The Governor from California, Gavin Newsom, had sent a representative from the Business & Economic Development office as well.
Speaking on the occasion Mark Russel, CEO, Nikola, shed light on the fact that their company fulfilled the commitment of ensuring their first Tre BEV gets delivered in 2021 Q4 itself and that it is a big honor for them to do so for their partner TTSI and also other dignitaries who have shown their bent towards advancing zero-emission solutions related to transportation and also decrease truck emissions when it comes to port operations.
Vic LaRosa, who is the President of TTSI, said that the day represents a major step in their continuous quest of achieving a zero-emission fleet.
TTSI, according to him, highly values its partnership with Nikola. Parameters such as production, performance, and maintenance will be key to their success, and Nikola, as per him, will excel on all three fronts.
