The project is expected to get completed by December 2023. Since NFI is part of a project which will deploy 100 electric trucks in California, the fleet will require chargers.
NFI is on the verge of taking deliveries of 30 Freightliner eCascadias and as many Volvo VNR Electrics. Notably,
NFI was one of the first fleets to test both these class-8 battery-electric trucks in real-time in 2018.
Since Electrify America is the largest open DC fast-charging network in the US, it was selected to deploy a charging solution for NFI that included site configuration as well as energy management services.
The infrastructure for charging the fleet will be installed at NFI’s Ontario, California set up. The infrastructure will feature 150kW and 350kW ultra-fast chargers.
