A leading EV technology company Cenntro Automotive which offers advanced and market validated commercial vehicles, has announced that its light-duty CV has got the Kei Car homologation approval in Japan.

Kei Car happens to be the smallest highway-legal lightweight kind in Japan, and Cenntro’s Metro will be the first non-Japanese electric CV to receive a certification.

Due to this approval, the Japanese urban delivery and service market will open to Metro and hence thereby allow it to be registered by the users anywhere they like including the highways.

As per Peter Wang, who is Cenntro’s chairman, they are pleased to be the first foreign company to receive the coveted certification of Kei Car type, and it is a matter of pride to receive it before the Japanese counterparts.

He adds that it is a significant milestone for their company as getting Kei Car type certification isn’t anybody’s cup of tea, and that too for a foreign company, it is all the more difficult.

He further said that this development is a testimony to Cenntro’s leading tech know-how and also the understanding it has of the local market.
