Iveco And Plus Collaborate For Autonomous Trucking Pilot

Iveco has collaborated with a driverless truck technology company called Plus, for the introduction of an autonomous pilot program across China and Europe.

As per the understanding, Plus will add its autonomous trucking technology with the current generation of heavy-duty trucks from Iveco.

Notably, the first trial which will be jointly held will ascertain and demonstrate the performance of these systems across a wide range of universe, as well as driving conditions.

According to Plus co-founder Shawn Kerrigan, their company has always put stress on expansive testing to evaluate autonomous driving systems- whether they can handle varied conditions, weather, driving conditions, as well as terrain.

Kerrigan elaborated that the pilot project will enhance their company’s effort to start manufacturing autonomous trucks that will tag Plus’ production with Iveco’s deep engineering expertise.

Iveco happens to be the commercial vehicle brand of CNH International. As per Iveco, the level of testing which will be involved in the pilot will help in getting data and also validate the design for autonomous production.
