Nitin Seth, who had quit Ashok Leyland as COO last month, will be joining the Reliance Industries pilot team, which will drive its energy business.
Nitin was one of the prominent architects who formed the EV arm of the country’s second-largest truck maker.
He has been involved in initiating successful projects throughout his tenure and comes with over three decades of automotive experience.
For over a decade, at Ashok Leyland, Seth was involved in multiple functions right from sales and marketing to managing alliances globally to product planning as well as providing strategic and operational leadership roles in greenfield projects.
Reliance Industries, in its advent to reduce the carbon footprint to a great extent, has committed $10 billion for renewables that include Hydrogen fuel cell advance storage, a solar module, and electrolyzers business in three years.
It is speculated that Nitin Seth will take charge of the Hydrogen Fuel Cell and Electric Battery division in the mobility business.
It is well to be noted that in the next three years Reliance will be spending Rs. 60000 crore to build four GIGA Factories which will make integrated solar PV modules, fuel cells and batteries, and electrolyzers.
The site of all these plants will be spread across the new 5000 acres GIGA complex based at Jamnagar. As far as batteries are concerned, Reliance aims to build large-scale grid batteries and is expected to collaborate with global leaders for technology.
When it comes to Hydrogen, the company has plans to build and set up electrolyzers that will produce green hydrogen used in transport and stationary power applications with the help of its self-producing fuel cells.
