Force Motors Calls Prejudice Against Diesel Vehicles Illogical

Force Motors has pointed out some unscientific as well as ill-founded prejudices against diesel-powered commercial vehicles that are currently existing and has sought free movement of these vehicles inside cities.

In an Annual Report, Force Motors, a Pune-based company that sells a range of diesel-powered commercial as well as passenger and also agriculture vehicles, said there was no point restricting the diesel vehicle movement as they do meet the mandated norms rolled out by the country.

The automaker, in a statement, said that the local area restrictions on the use of diesel-powered vehicles are illogical. The movement for achieving zero emissions by way of electric traction across all the segments is a decade away and these diesel vehicles which meet the mandated norms are the best solutions in the inner cities.

Last month, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Shri Nadkari, had asked vehicle manufacturers to discourage the production and sale of diesel engine vehicles, and also urged manufacturers to promote innovative technologies.

Force Motors, which is bullish on the tour and travel segment noted that the tour, travel, and hospitality industry had a great future in the country going ahead.

Force Motors sells models like Gurkha, Trax, Traveller in the commercial and passenger vehicle segment. It is also involved in selling tractors like Balwan 400 and Abhiman. Besides the domestic segment, the company also exports a range of products to the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

They are also involved in supplying engines and other components to leading automakers.

For instance, Force has supplied more than 1,15,000 engines and over 1,00,000 axles to Mercedez Benz India. The company has also supplied over 44,000 powertrains to BMW for their various products in India.
