For e-Buses, EKA And Nuport Robotics Would Implement Level 2 Autonomous Technology

EKA, an electric vehicle manufacturing and engineering company that officially joined the bus segment as a subsidiary of Pinnacle Industries, has announced a collaboration with NuPort Robotics, based in Canada, to bring Level 2 autonomy and driver assistance to its electric bus styles.

NuPort will deliver AI-enabled autonomous solutions throughout this close alliance, whereas EKA will provide electric vehicle infrastructure.

As per reports, this is the first occasion where level 2 autonomy and AI will be used and integrated for e-buses on Indian highways.

The OEM will put to the test a number of autonomous capabilities created by NuPort, which the company expects will help to improve security, reduce environmental impact, and enhance the efficiency of operations.

Their partnership with NuPort guarantees that their electric buses are not only ecologically responsible but also highly innovative through the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence, making them efficient and safer to function on Indian roads, said Dr Sudhir Mehta, chairman of EKA and Pinnacle Industries.
