First Inter-City Electric Bus In India, Puri Bus Begins Its Operations From Today

Electric bus service from Pune to Mumbai and vice versa has been launched.

Called The Puri Bus service, initiated by the EveyTrans Pvt. Ltd., a MIEL group company, its operations will be starting from October 15 on the occasion of Dussehra.

Notably, the government at the state and the centre are encouraging the use of electric vehicles in the public transport system under FAME 1 and FAME 2 initiative and this development is indeed going to go a long way in elevating the vision of the authorities even further.

While citing the benefits of PuriBus, Sandeep Raizada, who is the General Manager of EveyTrans, said that they are proud and humbled to be the first to launch the inter-city e-bus in the country.

The buses can cover up to 350 km on a single charge and, due to zero-emission, make an ideal option for inter-city travel leading to the much-desired savings over a while.

The PuriBus is 45-meter long and offers a seating capacity for 45 passengers excluding a driver and co-driver.

The bus comes equipped with a television, infotainment system, and even Wi-Fi. It also has features such as a panic alarm system and emergency lighting system in case of emergency alerts.
