Co-Development of EV Fluids Announced By WAE & Castrol Under Their Strategic Partnership

Williams Advanced Engineering, along with Castrol, has entered into a five-year technical partnership under which they shall co-develop high-performance EV fluids.

Within the agreement, it is stated that Castrol will be the official supplier of EV Thermal Fluids when it comes to WAE’s electrification programs as well as motorsport campaigns that range from Formula E, Extreme E, LMdH, and ETCR.

The motor oil company will supply EV fluids that will be apt for WAE’s high-performance batteries used in motorsports.

As per Williams Advanced Engineering’s CEO, Craig Wilson, they are delighted to be a part of this strategic alliance with Castrol.

Wilson said that he believes the partnership will allow the development of products that are specifically intended for electrification support in any form.

According to him, fluid technology will be pivotal not only to the motorsport landscape but to other key sectors as well. A.S. Ramchander, VP Marketing and GAM, Castrol says, that it is essential to understand the requirements and challenges of electrifying all forms of mobility and with partners line WAE, they hope to offer support to avant-garde mobility solutions and also advance further into EV Fluid Technologies.

As of now, the collaboration will stick to WAE’s motorsport activities, but with time the two companies will look to build on the entire range of EV fluid technology that will help cover wider electrification projects.

This partnership will help WAE access the complete range of Castrol On products which will include EV transmission, thermal fluids, and EV greases. Additionally, concepts will also be rolled out to enhance the second life performance of batteries and fluids
