Christmas has become merrier for Volvo Trucks as they have received an additional order of 25 heavy electric trucks from DFDS, which is Northern Europe’s largest shipping and logistic company.
The new order is atop the previous record order placed by DFDS in October this year for 100 Volvo FM electric trucks.
According to the President of Volvo Trucks Roger Alm, DFDS has once again confirmed its trust in their partnership and technology with this additional order of 25 vehicles.
He added that they are very proud and elated that it is becoming such a competitive advantage for their clients to be able to offer electric and sustainable transport.
As per him, the contract is very encouraging for their company.
These new trucks will be used in DFDS logistic system across Europe, and their delivery is planned to begin in the last quarter of 2022.
According to Niklas Andersson, who is Executive Vice President of DFDS, the partnership with Volvo allows them to offer low emission transport variety which is already in high demand among customers.
He’s also hopeful that such investments will enhance the demand for green infrastructure solutions across the continent.
With this variant of Volvo trucks, one can drive up to 500 km during a workday and have a fast top-up charge during the lunch break.
Notably, of all the electric trucks that a registered in Europe, Volvo has a market share of more than 40%.
