DAF Gets The Order To Ship 200 Heavy Duty Trucks To GRUPO PRODES

Transport company, GRUPO PRODES from Columbia has ordered the largest ever order for DAF trucks across South America.

They are all three-axle CF6X4 trucks that are used for distribution of aerated drinks, beer and tropical fruits to areas that are inhospitable.

GRUPO PRODES happens to be one of the largest operators in the country with a fleet of around 1500 trucks and 2000 trailers.

The company has depots spread across Columbia, which is the size of Germany, France put together. It also specializes in refrigerated transportation of trpical fruits.

A phased delivery of 200 trucks has already begun which is being followed by an intensive testing by GRUPO PRODES. As per Federico Medina, Transport Director at GRUPO PRODES,since they operate a multi-brand and multi-chassis fleet, they have a lots of vehicles they can compare to DAF.

Having said that, when it comes to reliability, fuel efficiency, manoeuvrability and driver comfort, these tractors are class apart.

He adds that they are convinced due to the quality of the truck and which is why they increased the initial order of 150 to 200. They are going to be supplied by Kenworth de la Monta├▒a, a DAF dealer who has 14 workshops in Colombia.
