Tire maker, Balakrishna Industries, popularly known as BKT has announced the inauguration of another manufacturing facility at Waluj, which is located in the Aurangabad district of the state of Maharashtra.
The facility is built at an investment of 56 million USD and will have a production capacity of almost 30000 MT of off-highway tires.
This state-of-the-art facility will exclusively produce a medium and small diameter range of tires, which will be designed for machinery in the agricultural and industrial segments.
The plant’s foundation stone was laid a couple of years back in 2019. Spread across 22 acres, the facility is located just 5 km from BKT’s existing and first-ever production unit in Waluj.
When at full capacity, it is anticipated that around 5000 people will be working in this unit.
It is indeed a strategic choice for the company because it not only adds numbers to its existing products but also raises efficiency levels.
With this facility, BKT intends to enhance its share of the off-road segment.
Arvind Poddar, Chairman of BKT, in a release, said that growth is their commitment, and looking ahead has always been the company’s constant goal.
The BKT Group notably offers a wide range of off-highway tires that are specifically designed for agricultural, industrial, earthmoving, ports and mining, construction, ATV as well as gardening sectors.
