Australia Post Gives An Order For 20 eCanter Trucks To Fuso

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, in an announcement said that 20 of its all-electric eCanter trucks will soon be a part of the Australia Post fleet.

It is well to be noted that Australia Post will become the first local customer of Fuso which will integrate into its daily operations the electric light-duty truck.

Australia Post, a government business enterprise provides postal services across Australia. The organization currently holds the largest electric fleet in the country, with over 3,000 electric delivery vehicles.

These trucks are expected to reduce Australia Post’s target of emissions by 15% by 2025 as compared to the 2019 levels.

These eCanters will run across major cities in Australia, supporting parcel deliveries. StarTrack, the subsidiary of Australia Post, will also be operating the eCanter.

They will have the support of FUSO’s existing retail network and the e-mobility experts from Daimler Trucks and Bus Australia.

Stationed in Australia, the eCanters are shipped from Portugal’s Tramagal, and come equipped with the same specifications as the models that are currently available in Japan and Europe. 

The vehicle comes equipped with an advanced emergency braking system, lane departure warning system, and also an electronic stability program.

The vehicle has been tested rigorously for a six-month local trial wherein it was operated with maximum load.
