Ashok Leyland & CVRDE Collaborate To Develop 600 hp Engine

Ashok Leyland, which is the flagship company of Hinduja Group and which also happens to be the largest mobility solutions supplier to the Indian Army, has collaborated with CVRDE- Combat Vehicle Research and Development Establishment.

The partnership will develop as well as manufacture a 600 hp indigenous engine that will power futuristic combat under the gamut of Atma Nirbhar Bharat.

Since Ashok Leyland has been the development and the production partner, it has applied modern as well as innovative methods to complete manufacturing of the engine and that too in a record time despite a lockdown due to COVID-19.

The CVRDE-DRDO-developed 600 hp engine has been inaugurated by distinguished Scientists and Director General at the engine development center of Ashok Leyland’s Chennai plant.
