Almost 10000 Lightning eMotors Electric Commercial Vehicles To Be Supplied With Proterra Battery Technology

One of the leading innovators in commercial vehicle electrification technology, Proterra Inc., has announced to expand its partnership with Lightning eMotors.

Aiming to electrify their Class 4 and 5 commercial vehicles with the help of its standout, industry-leading battery technology.

As per a new multi-year agreement on supply, Proterra contracted to share battery systems with more than 900-megawatt hours in battery storage capacity for lightning eMotors which can power 10000 electric commercial vehicles through 2022 to 2025.

The agreement includes supplying the Proterra H Series battery systems to Lightning eMotors, who have a strategic partnership with Forest River to co-manufacturer as well as deploy class 4 & 5 battery-electric, zero-emission shuttle buses.

This expansion is the elaboration of Proterra’s previously announced collaboration with the same organisation to provide a class 3 electric transit commercial van that would use the battery technology from Proterra.

According to Chris Bailey, President, Proterra Powered & Energy, they are delighted to build a relationship with Lightning eMotors and extend their battery technology to more electric commercial vehicles that range from delivery trucks, work trucks to shuttle buses and more.

Chelsea Ramm, who is the VP of Global Supply Chain at Lightning eMotors, says that they are indeed thrilled to further expand their relationship with Proterra to power class 4 and 5 platforms.

Chelsea adds that Proterra battery packs are perceived as a quality product in the market, and rightly so, which enhances their peace of mind and helps them at the time of sales.
