Diabetes is a new scourge of the modern world. It is on the rise steadily increasing everywhere, it is a no longer a disease of predominantly rich.
From the analysis it is clear we need stronger responses not only from different sector of Government, but also from civil society and people with diabetes themselves and also producers of food, manufacturers of medicines and medical technologies. Globally, an estimated 422 million adults were living with diabetes in 2014, compared to 108 million in 1980.
Collectively we can make a significant contribution to halt the rise in diabetes and improves their lives of those living with the disease.
There are no simple solutions for addressing diabetes but to coordinated, multi-component intervention can make a significant difference.
Detection is the Key: One out of two adults with diabetes is diagnosed. As per research large number of cases becomes more complicated because of late detection of diabetes. Therefore there is a need to detect it early and enhance the quality of life of diabetic persons through better management.
